Sauna and Wellness Hub at Body Shape

A traditional sauna inside the centre, on the same floor as everything else. No booking, no per-visit fee, no separate recovery-suite membership — it is part of what you already pay for.

Why it is here

Recovery is part of the training, not a reward for it

Most people who train consistently do so because the week is sustainable, not because they push harder than everybody else. The sauna is here to make the week sustainable.

Included in membership

Not an upgrade, not a per-session charge, not a separate wellness package.

Women only

The same as the rest of the centre. No mixed recovery area to navigate.

On the same floor

A few steps from the studios, so a class and a sauna is one trip, not two.

Inside the sauna

A traditional sauna, properly specified

Not a cupboard with a heater in it. The room is built for the way people actually use it — long, quiet, and worth staying in.

Himalayan rock salt

Rock salt balls sit alongside the heater, so the air carries the mineral warmth people come to a traditional sauna for.

Automatic steamer

An auto steamer keeps the humidity where it should be without anyone having to ladle water over the rocks.

Timber throughout

A traditional dry timber room, on the same floor as the studios and the change rooms.

The wellness hub

Practitioners in the building

The wellness hub is more than the sauna. These are the people working alongside us.

The rest of the wellness floor

What else is on the floor

Change rooms and showers

Indoor and outdoor change room and shower facilities, with lockers.

Low-impact classes

Mobility & Stability, Pilates, Pilates and Hatha Restore yoga sit on the timetable for exactly this reason.

Using it

How members actually use the sauna

There is no ritual to learn and no booking system to navigate.

After a heavy session

The most common pattern: train, shower, sit for a while, go home. It turns a workout into something you look forward to finishing.

On a recovery day

Some members come in purely for a mobility class and the sauna. That is a legitimate use of a membership, not a wasted trip.

In winter, mostly

Usage roughly doubles when it gets cold. Come early on a July morning and you will not be the only one with the same idea.

Answered in the open

What people ask about the sauna

  • Do I have to book a time slot?

No. Use it whenever you are in the centre. There is no booking system and no session fee.

  • Is it mixed?

No. It sits inside a 100% women-only fitness centre, so the sauna, the change rooms and the showers are all women only.

  • What do I need to bring?

A towel, and something to change into afterwards. The change rooms and showers are on the same floor.

  • Is it safe for me?

Sauna use is not appropriate for everyone. If you are pregnant, managing a heart or blood pressure condition, or on medication that affects how you regulate temperature, check with your GP first.
